School holiday programs
Based on Sydney’s beautiful Northern Beaches, F.E.R.A.L school holiday programs give children the opportunity to explore nature, build genuine friendships in small groups, and learn the importance of caring for their community and the world around them.
For parents, we offer a longer day than most alternative programs, along with the reassurance that their children are spending their holidays screen-free, immersed in experiences that develop some of life’s most important qualities. Curiosity, kindness, resilience and the confidence to try new things.
Made for connection
Our next programs will run over the July school holidays. There will be two groups, age 5- 7 and age 8-10, across two weeks. Week 1: 6th - 10th July. Week 2: 13th - 17th July. $120 / day or $500 for 5 days.
Max 12 children to every educator. Every educator has WWCC and references.
We will be based at South Narrabeen SLSC, 1200 Pittwater Road, Narrabeen, NSW 2101.
What to bring: recess and lunch (afternoon snack provided), hat, weather appropriate clothing. Please no not pack anything containing any nuts.

Day One is all about exploring the natural world around us. Through nature walks, treasure hunts and an introductory photography session, children will slow down, observe their surroundings and capture their favourite discoveries from the day to take home. Indoors, we’ll get creative with nature-inspired arts and crafts using collected treasures and natural materials. The day also includes fun, interactive recycling games designed to teach children about sustainability in a hands-on way — don’t be surprised if they become the experts on which bin everything belongs in by the end of the day.

Today is all about discovering the magic of our oceans, the incredible wildlife they support, and the important role we all play in protecting them. Through beach walks, interactive games, coastal photography and ocean-inspired challenges, children will explore the natural beauty of the coastline while learning how to care for it. Expect plenty of creativity, curiosity and some beautiful creations to come home with your young environmental steward.

Day Three is for the wildlife explorers. From spotting and identifying local wildlife to learning how to care for the insects and animals we share our environment with, children will spend the day immersed in nature. They’ll build birdhouses, play interactive games, and create animal-inspired artwork — with plenty of masterpieces you’ll want to proudly display at home.

Day Four is all about caring for community. Children will meet and interview local community heroes, learn about the important roles people play in helping others, and explore how small acts of kindness can make a big impact. The day includes thoughtful gift making, creating community hero portraits, and preparing meals for charity — helping children build empathy, gratitude and a deeper connection to the world around them.

Day Five focuses on connection and kindness. Children will walk along the beach to Furlough House, where they’ll spend meaningful time with elderly residents playing board games, chatting and drawing pictures together. Through shared stories and simple moments of connection, children will experience the joy of brightening someone else’s day. Back in nature, they’ll take part in a paired nature walk designed to encourage listening, reflection and deeper connection with one another, before finishing the day by creating a thoughtful appreciation gift for their buddy.
